My new water cooling setup

I'm thinking of upgrading my water cooling setup from an Apogee GT waterblock to an Apogeee GTZ waterblock, and several other upgrades. Let me know what you think!

Upgrading from:
Apogee GT CPU Waterblock > Apogee GTZ CPU Waterblock
7/16" ID 5/8" OD > 1/2" ID 3/4" OD
Swiftech MCRES Micro > Swiftech MCRES Micro Rev. 2

Keeping:
Swiftech MCP655 Pump
MCR-220 Dual-120mm Radiator

New:
2x Ultra Kaze 120mm Fans (133CFM)
DD High-Flow 1/2" Metal Barbs
PrimoChill Clear 1/2" ID 3/4" OD Tubing
3/4" OD Clear Anti-Kink Coils

i have the same size tubing you are getting and i also have the anti kink coils!

i was thinking of getting black anti kink coil to go with my red liquid coolant!

i think it looks smart with the coils on-what colour liquid you gonna use? sticking with the green?

Excellent! I hate the size tubing that came with the kit, I mean 7/16" ID tubing??

I bought two UV bright green dye bombs to mix with distilled water, I think the green looks sweet. I'm also going to completely rebuild my setup with better cable management, and better placement of the pump/reservoir.

Are you having problems with the old stuff?

i dont think he will be!!!

its what we call an "upgrade Deficincy".... alot of peopl on here suffer from it (me included)
Actually the temps are surprisingly high, much higher then I had hoped for. Also if (what am I saying, when!) I upgrade to the LGA1366 platform, all I will need is a new bracket, I won't have to spend $200 to upgrade my watercooling parts as well.

your temps shouldnt be that high unless your tubing is restricting the flow rate?

i know when i had dual rad on my rig my temps were like 19oC -24oC idle, i like the look of the green man but im after the blood red in mine

i got some of the red dye bomb with the red fans and cold cathodes in my 1200....

the case is massive

I think it's the fact that the GT waterblock isn't all that good, and that the pump, reservoir, and most of the tubing is inside the warm case. I'm going to be rearranging the layout of the pump and reservoir to hopefully improve airflow, and I will be adding two high CFM 120mm fans to the radiator instead of the stock fans.

The red could look nice, but probably not on my system with the blue LED's and cathodes.

i thought your cpu block was better than mine? i did get a accelerator nozzle pack for mine so the water is aimed at the 4 parts of the block where the cores are!

green does look good in yours with the blue fans, i got all new red fans with red cathodes etc!!

wish you good luck mate and post some pics :)

i have the same pump and res that you have, my plan is to put the res as high up the case i can but not sure about the radiator and pump placement yet

what case is this going in? and i'm assuming you're going to use a fan controller right? those kazes will sound like vacuum at 3k rpm

hey omega, how about a couple of these rads(i think i am actully going to get 3-4 of these :P)

You may be getting my current setup confused with my previous WC setup. The waterblock I have now is the Apogee GT (about $40), it's decent but no where near as good as the GTX/GTZ. I'm trying to make it look as neat as possible, so I have everything except the rad mounted inside the case.

And you bet, I will take a few before and after shots. :)

This is going in an Antec 1200. And yes, I bought a fan controller.

A couple? haha! That would probably do more harm then good since it would drastically increase friction and reduce the flow of liquid. I prefer my dual-rad because I can screw it to the back of the case and use the two 120mm case fans to cool it.

The Ultra Kaze fans are great:) They are pretty quite when turned down... but crank them up and it's like an air compressor;) MAJOR AIRFLOW! I have 6 of then in my case on fan controllers and they have been rock solid for months now.

Are you going to sell the older parts? Hmm.....

depends, you might be able to squeeze another 400 mhz out of that q6600 and still maintain decent temps

The thing is, I have awesome temps now, and I'm on air. I also bet it cost a quarter of what some decent WC'ing parts would, too.

I get it for both looks and performance, and yes if done right it can't be great for cooling.

Yeah, it does look this shit! That's probably what would persuade me to get it the most, lol.

i saw a deal somewhere if you spend around 150 you can get a decent water setup, go to petrastechshop.com, and i'll pm you a list later when i'm not on a psp

I had those fans before and they are great, it's been a while though so I don't remember how loud they are. That's what the fan controller is for though!

That's one of the major reasons I went with a WC setup with my $5,000. While it does work well it can also be used to make the system ultra quiet.
