My Notebook does't have sound, HELP ME PLEASE!!!

I have got and installed the lastest drivers from the HP website
Still no sound

nope it's not on mute, lol

it shows up in the control panel and it states that speakers are work

um... there built-in

can still play sound and there are no warning or error messages

restoring to a earlier point didn't work either

Any help please, Thanks

And got Vista SP1

But had sound b4 with SP1

didn't make any changes, it just disappeared.
Then i uninstalled the driver, reset the computer and reintalled the drivers
nothing???
so i really dunno
 
Ok (restarts important here). Do this.

  1. Download and install this: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/con...16&DwnldId=16023&strOSs=&OSFullName=&lang=eng
  2. Restart.
  3. Download and install this: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp35501-36000/sp35682.exe
  4. Restart

Post results. If it works let me know, and then i would go here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2093&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=au&product=3195706&lang=en and make sure you have the latest drivers for the rest of your system. It is probably worth downloading them all and putting them on a cd or somewhere where you can access them without the internet, or in case HP decides to remove them (it happens).

Yeah I already got the latest drivers from the HP website
all of them

and I have restarted after installing each of the drivers

so I dunno....


guesting I would not be the speakers because when pluging in earphones still nothing?

Currently can play sound files and no error or anything??? just no sound

so confused

I'm thinking there maybe something with the sound card or something?

how about a external sound card?? would that work?
