So last night my sound stopped working on my new computer (e6750, 680i, 8800gts, 64-bit Vista). I unplug and replug my speakers, but nothing happens, so i figure ill deal with the problem in a little while. Then the sound starts working again. So this morning I turn on my comp, and there is no sound again. This time it doesn't come back. I restart my comp, install latest drivers, try it on different speakers, and there is still no sound.
I never flashed my BIOS when I got it, so I decided to do that. I burn the p31 BIOS (newest) to a CD, and follow the instructions that say to set your CD drive as first boot device, so I do that. While booting, it gets to the part where it says Boot from CD:. Then it just hangs there until it finally boots Vista, without every flashing the BIOS.
What's wrong? I have an old IDE CD drive (thats been working fine) and a new SATA HDD. Thanks for any help/suggestions!
