my pc restarts every now and then .. please help....

when i am browsing the net, playing games, playing musics and simply doing this thread.. my pc restarts and i dont wats the problem... i think its the PSU?
my specs are :
intel core 2 duo 3.4ghz
512 ram
gforz fx5500 256mb
combo drive DVD/cd RW
3fans..
350w PSU <<< i thinks this is the prob??coz i read many threads and thier PSu is 500+w

how many watt shuld i use?? and wats the effect of low PSU with my specs?
please help ty
 
Exact thing happens to me..... frequently
also my comp makes a loud noise whenever its on =/
would also love to hear replies.

I thought it was my PSU but some guy on a computer forum said it was my HDD but i dunno =/
 
yeah there a noise after the restart.. its like the fan was grinding sumthing..
its been my problem for 1year already..but now im fed up and want to solve this prob...

after the restart theres a system log saying..
system has recovered from seroius error <<< sumthing like that
 
could be the video card as well...

problem with issues like this..there is no definitive answer, just speculation and trial and error.
 
Any chance your CPU is overclocked and is unstable? The 350W PSU could be dying if it's a cheapo or generic brand (not all 350W PSUs are made equal).
