My PC used to minimize really quickly.

Ok... what are you minimizing from?
Typically, if you are running a game (say, at the resolution of 1280x1080), and your desktop background is at 1920x1080, then your system will have to convert its video settings to match the resolution that you're trying to get at.
If there is a discrepancy like that, then typically you will notice minimizing to be 'slower'...
I can't really think of anything else other than that games like Left 4 Dead 2, they take a while to minimize and to get back into the game (even with my specs below in signature).

If so, press Windows key + Pause/break on your keyboard, then click Advanced System Settings in the window that comes up, and then click Settings in the Performance area, and then uncheck Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing. Click Ok.
