hey guys, ive posted a few times on this forum and found your help to be really usefull in helping me decide on my new pc.

i think ive found a pretty good deal on this site http://www.dinopc.com and using your suggestions from other threads and from reading other stuff i think ive got a pc that is suitable to my needs.

i was hoping just to get some final thoughts before i commit to buy so here goes:

il be using my pc for general usage, but hopefully make it good enought to play games at a good standard the components ive chosen are..

CPU: intel core 2 duo e6420
Ram: kingston 2gig 667 mhz
HD: 250 gig sata
GPU: 8800 gts 320mb
OS: 64 but vista
mobo: ecs 965t-a

the case is pretty basic i think it will be good enough

im struggling on which PSU to get

i could get a 600w dual 12v rail
or a basic 550 w
sorry there isnt much info here about the psu's

i wont be overclocking yet but hopefully eventually upgrade the mobo to something which supports SLI insert another 8800 gts 320mb and get a good quality psu, thermal take or somthing.

thanks for reading and im hoping you can spare some advice for me :P
thanks

i would avoid the ECS motherboard if at all possible. they are generally low quality and dont provide as many options such as overclocking and other tweaks. ASUS and GIGABYTE are good brands with a solid reputation.

as for the two power supplies you gave, the 600W is the one you will need because the 550W option does not have a PCIe connector, which you will need for that 8800.

hmmm, ok well i hear dthe ECS board is pretty average, and because il be getting the 8800gts and e6430 i see no reason why i would need to overclock at the moment for high quality gaming.

in the future if my games start to lag i would probably get a better board better PSU another 8800 gts and then overclock.

however i could upgarde now for the ecs to the Asus P5N-E SLI but i hear that the SLI capabilities on it is not so good beacuse it halfs the bus size or something so the bus is only 8bit, something like that.
would it be worth upgradign now, or wait a year or two and get a better SLI board with better PSU and another 8800gts?

if you're not too keen on overclocking features or the like, the ECS will do.

some asus boards have only PCIe x8 when in SLI mode, this is true. This setup will run fine for you, and is easily upgraded in the future as you say.

had a look at this, seems the P5N-E SLI performs just as well as the other 2 boards in SLI
