Hi Im dan and im new here so i thought i would share my build with you all
first of about 3 months ago i brought a basic pc to get me going
the specs were:
asus a7n266-vm motherboard with an amd athlon 1200 cpu
20GB maxis hdd
standard asus heatsink
512mb of ram
and a basic cd drive
the first thing i did was cut out the side of the case, add some perspex/plexiglass, add some case lighting and tidy up the wires
after getting so wound up with the noise of it being on overnight is brought a hiyatek front panel with 2 fan speed controllers
it stayed like this for a few weeks until i brought a new case and gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro mother board of a friend, i also brought a second hand water cooling kit from my local classifieds
again it stayed like this for a while until one day one of the pipes going to the cpu block popped off wiping out my motherboard so i went back to my old mobo and heatsink, this time i added another 512 mb of ram so i had 1gb now
Everything was going well until we had a power cut whilst i was updating my pc, when we got power back i went to boot it up but no luck so i decided to re-install windows and i was given xp professional media centre edition to install, the next thing i did was buy a completely clear case, an ati rage 128 pro graphics card, a 160GB western digital hdd, a 400w psu artic cooling heatsink, some cold cathode lighting and some led case fans
This is how it stands today
at the moment the hardware is nothing special but i am on quite i tight budget so when fund alow i will be upgrading the motherboard and cpu and putting my water cooling kit back on making sure that everything is tight this time.... To be continued
