Hey i have 3 sata hdds and a sata dvd drive connected to my mother board in my sig, now when i boot the comp on the first black screen it says my ram and cpu but with my hdds it says channel0 master seageate 1000G channel0 slave samsung 320g channel1 master seagate 500g channel1 slave asus dvd drive. now i thourght sata had no master and slave so i started wondering are the mobo sata ports them selves shared? like do each 2 sata ports share the same channel therefore not as fast.
My sata hdds come up as slaves

Don't worry about it. When set up as ATA compatible they list as master and slave. But no, that doesn't affect speed.
