Hello. I finished building the system in my sig. It plays everything that I've tried (cod4, hitman blood money, etc.) maxed, all except for Crysis. No, don't worry, I didn't expect maxed settings on Crysis! I can play it at 1024X980 or whatever that resolution setting is that's around there (sorry about the wonderful description) and put it on low without any aa and I'll be lucky to get a totally smooth framerate.

So, is my processor holding it back, or is it the card? If it's the processor, I wouldn't mind upgrading one day to a 5000+ or even up to a 6000+, if that would work. If it's the card, well, tough luck. I'll just lump it.

I'm not really worried about Crysis that much, as it's not really my type of game, but I am worried about Mafia II and GTA4, assuming it's released for pc. If you don't mind, take a look at Mafia II:

I know that you would be assuming, but does my system stand a chance, or is Crysis more demanding than games to come? Sorry about this, I'm just curious if I should be planning on an upgrade in the near future. Thanks!
 
Thanks. I also forgot to mention that I like to game at 1280X1024. What would be the minimum processor needed for this setup? I mean, would a 5000+ cut it, or do I need more? Thanks!

Edit: Maybe I should be looking into the 5600+ and up range, or the 2.8ghz and up range?
 
Mafia II looks like fun! I imagine there's a first one out there somewhere?

Yes, it sure does! Many feel that the first one had the best game storyline out of any game ever produced. Of course #1 graphics are dated, but they still look great when paired with a nice gpu.

I believe many of these are shots from the beta version (the original- very rare), but they are 85-90% the same in appearance as the normal version.

That's the beta version, and it looks almost exactly like the normal game. I think you can pick it up for under $10 with shipping on ebay, and you surely won't be disappointed!

I just want to make sure that my pc is totally ready for the second one.
 
Just try overclocking, I saw some pretty big improvements when I overclocked. See if you can get ur CPU to 2.8 or 3.0

3.0 probably wouldn't be stable on that CPU though, but its worth a try...its free:)
 
Off Topic: I haven't heard anything about GTA4 for PC. Apparently GTA games don't release for PC until a few months after the console releases >_>
 
Yeah, I'm just assuming that it will be. There was some magazine in Europe that said it will be released for pc in October (for Europe), but they didn't show any sources, so I just kind of took that as a grain of salt.
