My toshiba laptop power supply broke off

I need help please

I have a toshiba laptop around 3-4 years old and can turn it on because
the plug on the laptop broke off...and my batterie is pooched so i need to
get the info on the laptop hhd.....i know you can purchase a cable converter
for the laptop hhd to a desktop hdd

what i need to know is if i pick up a cable converter is it as simple as
connecting my laptop hdd to my desktop hdd and power it on

all i want is to retreive the info off my laptop hdd and strore it on my desktop
thats all

can someone please help me with this

u can get converters on ebay like i did. they are only a few bucks.

if u dont want the laptop anymore I'll take it and pay for the shipping. :)
I can probably fix the power connector.

what is the exact name of this converter and where ya from?
you interested in the laptop? there's nothing wrong other then the power
supply

It should be that easy, just connect the cables properly and you're good. If you are trying to get at documents stored under my documents on a passworded account you'll need to take ownership first but even that's fairly easy.
