I am going to stick with the ASUS P6T Deluxe with the i7-960. I do not know much about overclocking, and don't mind spending the extra money. I'm going to stick with "Retail" versions of the HDD and DVD Drive because this is my first build and would like to idiot proof it as much as possible.

CPU- Switch to an i7 920, far better price to performance. The chips are exactly the same, and will overclock similarly. In all honesty, anyone can learn to overclock a chip and its not difficult, spending more on the 960 is more or less a waste.

Memory- Mushkin uses higher quality ic's in their products than OCZ, has a 2 star review apparently from some DOA sticks, but its hard to base an opinion on a product from a single review(especially newegg reviews)

PSU: With what you save on the CPU, you can go for a higher quality more effecient unit(the modxstreams are good psu's though as well)

Case:May want to think about somthing along the lines of the CM 690II, its an update to one of my favorite cases to use for builds, and has great cable management and features for newer builders

HDD: No need for retail, all that gets you is a box with some useless paperwork, not to mention its $5 cheaper, but also free shipping vs nearly $15 as well:

Optical Drive: Sony Optiarc tends to make better drives than HP, especially with this drive as it has an NEC chipset:
