My Wireless Mouse

Hi,

I have a generic Logitech-ripoff wireless mouse. I haven't had problems with it, but now, the left mouse button doesn't work. Well, actually, it'll work if I click repeatedly for a while, and eventually it'll click. It's really annoying....I was wondering if anyone knew maybe why it wasn't working? Could it be the frequency that the mouse uses? I thought it might be that there isn't enough power going to my USB ports (I think I may need to upgrade my power supply...different issue :) )? So any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S.- it does the same thing after it's been charged, too.

Good question, try to reinstall the driver... Any specifics about the mouse? A product number?

On the back of the mouse, it says "Wireless Optical Mouse. M/N SN-221. Rating 3V [graphic] 60mA. This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. I'll try reinstalling the driver....although I think it's a hardware problem.

I just did some research, and I found out that it's made by Sansun Industries (sound familiar lol). Here are the specs:

* Elegance design chargeable mouse stand

Features:
Mouse Size: 121x70x42mm.
Frequency: 27MHz.
Security ID: 256.
Supports Windows 98/2000/Me/NT/XP.
Resolutions: 800 dpi
Interface: USB, COMBO
With the optical technology, the motion can be detected on most surfaces, including wood plastic, paint, etc.

Does this matter?

One more idea, did you try switching usb ports? If all else fails... make sure you are not too far away from the transmission reciver... What else do you have (USB wise) plugged-in?

And no, I don't see anything there of any signifigance, I did a google search of my own that had no effect...

*Found something, the mouse is made in Germany, and it's one of those oddball one in a million mice...

It isn't far from the reciever at all, and I just tried a different USB port with the same result. I don't have too too much plugged into my USB; I've got my card reader and my printer. However, I do have numerous power-consuming devices attached/added on to my computer, included several PCI cards, 3 total hard drives (one isn't listed below), ram (see below), etc.

Well, there is always the process of elemination... all I can say is try unpluging one of the uneeded harddrives and try... Wow.. three... I can bet if you have all three of them spinning at once, or even two, and they are semi-decent, you will be getting some real speed problems. I mean, two hard drives really slows a computer down... but three...

Lol, I do use all 3 hard drives. I used to only have two (the ones listed below), and they got full, so I bought a 160gb Western Digital HD. In fact, my brother gave me one of his old hard drives full of music...60gb...i want to connect that too :). I don't want to transfer the files from one of my old drives to my new one because then I'll only have 120 or 100 gigs rather than my 160gb....and the way I've been downloading stuff, I'm going to need 160gb. I've filled up 30gb in only a few days :P.

my mini usb optical mouse has that problem, i had to use a screwdriver and open it up and rewire it cuz the wire was in the way causing it not to click or work.

Update: my mouse seems to have randomly started left-clicking again after a 6 month break from it. Weird. I'm not sure if it's only temporary, but for now anyway, I'm happy. I guess talking about it made it work :P.
