Mysterious file association problem

Hey I do not really ask many questions on this forum but there is one that's kinda bugging me. I have made a folder on my desktop that I use to store stuff that I have made for school. Now the problem is that the attributes are always set to "read only" and when canged, revert back to it. It seems to have integrated itself into the system. Yet another funny thing is that when I try to copy the folder, it says: Cannot copy folder. When I go inside the folder and select a file (which is not in a sub-folder) it works. When I select a sub-folder and try to copy it...I come across the same problem. Perhaps I should note that I used Touch it utilities but even their powerful attribute changing options failed. Please help!

Forgot to mention: I use Windows XP Professional SP2 (Build 2600)

One of the files in the folder is running so it isn't allowing you to copy that file and stops copying the folder when it gets to that file. It should say can't copy ____. The blank being a filename. That file is usually a running file. You can't copy a running file.

Thanx

That I know. However that's not the problem. It never says: cannot copy ..... . It simply cays Cannot copy . Now I found that the contents of the folder can be copied but the folder by itself can't.The same goes for all subfolders. So I am lost.
