So, I dropped the idea of getting the hp vd8000...not good enough battery life, hot...no need for it. I have narrowed it down to these two hp computers...What are your recommendations? I want to go ahead and get it ordered but want to be sure which to get! The main difference is pentium m vs amd...
What I will use it for is college (go in the fall)...and of course I will play a few games. Not constantly, but the couple I play require a good computer whenever I do play them. And then basically just sitting around playing on the internet and talking.
HP DV1000 customized $1,368
-XP Pro
-Pentium M 740 (1.73 ghz)
-14" widescreen brightview wxga
-1 gb ram (2x512)
-60 gb hd 5400
-dvdrw cdrw combo
-intel graphics media accelerator 900 pentium (anyone know if this is ok...there aren't other choices)
-wireless internet w/ bluetooth
-12 cell battery
-remote control
-HP PSC 1410 printer
HP ZV6000 customized $1,247
-XP Pro
-AMD 64 3500+ (2.2 ghz / 512 cache)
-15.4" WXGA brightview widescreen
-128 mb ATI radeon xpress 200m w/ hypermemory
-1 gb ram (2x512)
-60 gb hd 5400
-dvdrw cdrw combo
-wireless internet w/bluetooth
-12 cell battery (x2...since I figure the battery won't last as long..)
-HP PSC 1410 printer
Which one would you all recommend I go with? I don't know too much about this new pentium m or centrino or whatever all it is for notebooks, nor do I know much about amd (ive always been using pentium 4 myself...for desktops only)..so...it comes down to that, the battery life, and the graphics card. The DV1000 doesn't have any other options for the graphics card, I havent seen many of the pentium M's that had other options for the card...
