Hey, I have this old (and i mean really old) laptop, currently running windows XP. Its an Hp Pavilion n5190.

I know this is not a great laptop, but i'm wondering if I should (or if its even worth trying) re purpose it and turn it into some sort of NAS or Server.
I have litterally no needs from this laptop, and if I cant find something to use it for then i'm scrapping it.
Any suggestions? It doesn't have to be an NAS/Server, recommend whatever you think i should use it for. I'm trying to keep everything free of charge, but might be willing to put in a little money if I see it being worth it.

Update
If a better idea comes around, I have a Dell Inspiron 1720, and possibly a desktop pc I could use. Desktop has no future hardware replacements, and might not be an option. however, the laptop has two HDD bays, with already a 500gb HDD installed. I could wipe that, install some server/NAS OS on it, and get some new HDD's with maybe a TB each.

Im not sure how much I want to go through with using that computer unless its a good idea, and geoff is thinking a laptop wont work too well. however, I dont really need to keep it running 24/7, maybe just when it is being needed. 24/7 would just be an added bonus.

Personally I would not do either. Laptops don't have much drive space, so you'd have no options for RAID and you'd rely on a single drive for both the OS and your data. Secondly, laptops are not meant to be on 24/7, and if stressed will easily overheat.
