I'm thinking on buying a nec dvd drive from NewEgg.com, my problem is that it's an OEM drive (no drivers, instructions, etc). Where do I get the drivers for Windows ME or where can I buy it with everything I need in the box? Unless someone has better idea for an internal dvd burner (brand)?

Yup, as long as you're burning software is semi-up to date, you'll be fine. CD Drivers weren't needed for most computers that could run 95 and on :P

Now if you need burning software, I reccomend DeepBurner. It's free and does a pretty good job. There are some otehrs out there but usally they have all the same featuers that Deep Burner does.

I'm replacing a drive I already have so I'm guessing I have the IDE cable. For my burning software I use Clone DVD and AnyDVD.

Replacing a drive? Yeah, that'll be fine.

As for the software, I know nothing about them. They should work just fine, though, assuming you want to just make DVDs... Deepburner is more for CDs. It can make DVDs(video or data) but it's main function is just a standard burning program.

id suggest Nero ultra anything above 6 does dvds well. if its videos dvds you want then TMPGenc to encode and ulead dvd workshop to author it
