Need a 5xxx series GPU equal to a 4850

need something to replace my brother's dying 4850.. baking it didn't work this time, it appears there are bulging capacitors and i cant get away with replacing them without voiding the warranty. (it's gunna get sent out... again!)

Not looking to spend more than $150 AUD, i was thinking something like a 5670.

5670 is nowhere near 4850 as far as performance go.

5670 It's a bit slower than 8800GT.

much better than a 5670,I doubt that a 5670 would do much good in DX11 gaming anyway,certianly would not be able to max much.

If he gets that he will be bottlenecked... he has a 2.2ghz core 2 duo.

plus the powersupply can only really output like 400w... it says 860w but it's a POS

If he's on that kind of rig, don't bother going DX11, or go for a 5770. DX10 is well worth it if you're on that kind of rig.

He's hardheaded and won't listen... he's got heart and mind set on a 5670... I've told him already but its what he wants.

And either way, once he gets and and decides its not good enough, he can always grab the 4850 and use it... once i get another RMA for it >.<
