need a dvi to hdmi lead

is there any way to get connection on my pc screen and my tv at the same time or a way where i dont have to keep taking out the lead to switch between the two?
also the dvi to hdmi lead has to be about 8 meters. where can i get one of these? I need a decent hdmi switcher too one iwth 2 or 3 inputs.
Lastly if im running my pc screen at 1680x1050 will it automatically adjust on my tv to 1360x768 as thats the highest for that?

(if 16ft isn't enough then you can get a dvi or hdmi extension like this dvi one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812712028 10ft+16ft=26ft>8m you could try that out)

I have the same issue as you.

I use a HDMI switch splitter combination that will just send the Digital Video to both monitors, so you don't even need to do the switching.

I like that solution since I sometimes have parties and want to show on both HDTV.

If you want to switch between 2 monitors you can try a 3x2 HDMI switch.

I think technically, you are looking for a HDMI switch. Which allows you to switch between multiple HDMI or DVI sources to 1 HDTV.

A HDMI splitter, on the other hand, will show a HD source or computer to 2 HD monitor.


You can use a HDMI splitter, it has 1 input and 2 HDMI outputs that lets you mirror both pictures on both displays. You don't need to do any switching, it will just show up on both displays.
