need a gaming + tv watching

hey i need a computer that is within $1400,
and i dont kno what to buy,

i am planning on playing HALF LIFE 2, battlefield, doom 3,,ect
and would like to watch TV on it,

those are like the 3 conditions i need, ($1400, hl2, TV)

i realy don't need more than 300gb of storage, because not planning
on recording a whole library of TV and movies

and a moniter with speakers would be nice

Have you looksed at mwave or newegg to get deals? Tiger an be a little high priced compared to the other vendors. But the one question here do you plan to build or simply buy a complete system? You can get into an average custom for well under $1,000 if you know how to shop.

The first thing about HL2 and tv tuners is that you won't need more then 2gb of ram to play HL2. Neither will you need the fastest cpu or highest end video card to run either reliably. Do you have any makes and model hardwares in mind for a custom build?
