need a good (free) video capturing program

hey guys, i have been looking for a good program to capture video and sound from my computer. i want it so i can record computer game sessions, video clips, and stuff. i found one good one, but i malfunctions when i use it. what do you guys use/suggest?

Good luck finding one thats free thats over 5 fps. Most people will recommend FRAPs. But Ill let you in on a secret. If its only for games, and you have xfire. It has a built in video capture option. You just need to do some stuff in the settings. Its still pre-alpha, but as Ive seen with xfire, it can only get better .
