Need a monitor?

I have about 175 dollars US in the budget and will be mainly needed the monitor for Auto CAD , inventor 3-D, and watching vids. My current desktop setup is listed in my sig. I went to Fry's today to try and get one but the folks up there were just as clueless as i was and had plenty of 400-600 dollar monitors. Also their selection was not so great so I figured it would be best to order online.

LED's are both inferior and overpriced. I recommend you look at anything LCD from Asus or Samsung and possibly adjust your budget as necessary.

I agree , the screens are LCD's but 3 of the 4 have LED back-lighting added which I am reading is preferred for better graphics?

I don't think I'd call LED inferior. It's definitely not superior by any stretch, but they're certainly worth considering. The quality of colour will be pretty dependent on the manufacturer quality, just as it would for an LCD. LED does present some advantages though. They're narrower (Not a big deal in 95% of cases but may be worth considering. My monitor is just about an inch thick.) and they consume less power than LCD screens. Again, not exactly a deal breaker. The only distinct visual advantage I've noticed is that in comparison to other LCD's I've seen, my blacks are slightly richer. This is just my LED monitor in comparison to what I've seen though, so it is far from an end all be all, I'm just putting in my experiences here.

Ghosting on a lcd computer monitor. Plasma yes i'd believe it but not a lcd computer monitor if you are not happy with that asus model i suggest you take a look at this samsung http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001440 very nice.

Thanks for the link . I researched this monitor and it seems all though its nice it is not adjustable as far as be able to move the monitor. The base is fixed. I believe the detail says it has tilt but the feedback and on google says it fixed. I am going to go with the ASUS ve248h which is the same but some say has issues with ghosting. After researching there are tons of great reviews and it seems some were "duds" but the problem was hopefully fixed on the newer ones. Confused a little since its a LCD with LED backlighting, everywhere and even the box labels this as a LED?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ja7SnvjqiJc
