Need a new battery for my computer

I am looking for a new battery for my computer (HP pavillion dv2000) and have come across the problem that I dont think HP makes the particular battery that was used in this computer anymore. I took out the battery and it said to replace with '440772-001' but I checked on the HP website and it said that it could not be ordered.

I guess what I am trying to ask is whether or not there is a current battery that will work in my computer. Oh and I would like to stick with one from HP if possible rather than an aftermarket version.

Thanks for any help

The batteries seen on boards even by HP are standard calculator/watch Lithium type coin sized batteries found at watch/jewelry and consumer electronics battery racks at stores like Walmart, CVS pharmacy, Radio Shack, and other retail outlets in the U.S. You first have to cross match the number there to see if it is the typical 2032 usually seen as CR-2032 for Eveready or DL-2032 for Duracell.

Personally I prefer Duracell over the other brands since they always tend to last longer and are quite reliable replacements. You don't have to special order a commonly found item but simply match the correct number for the 3v battery.

I'm gonna jump in here, the battery Dusty is talking about ('440772-001' ) referrs to his laptop power supply battery not the motherboard battery, I did a quick google search and found a bunch of places that sell them this is just one place http://www.battdepot.ca/search.aspx?keywords=440772-001 but just search the model number and you should find something closer to you and maybe cheaper!
