Need a new charger

Hi
I am new to this site and would appreciate any help regarding buying a new charger. I have an Acer Aspire 5920 and the charger has just packed up. I have had a look on amazon and they show the jack that goes in to the lap top as yellow - my existing one has a blue jack. Whats the difference? can I buy the yellow jack charger or must it be one with a blue jack?

Will be grateful of any advice.

Thanks :)

If you look at the data plate on your existing charger, you will find the pertinent data:

Output Voltage:
Output Current:
Wattage:

It may not list the wattage, it may just say Output: 19v 3.42a or something along those lines.

The number preceding 'v' is the voltage, and the number preceding 'a' is the amperage. Match your laptop model number against what the vendor says is the correct charger, then make sure the output voltage and current are the same as what you have. Do not use a charger with a different voltage output, nor with a lower current number.

If the connector is the same size and shape, the color of the insulator won't make a difference. Be sure to buy a unit with at least a one year warranty. Of course, for best results, you'd want to buy a replacement from your laptop manufacturer, but you will pay dearly for that.
