Need a new gaming card. Any ideas?

Hello!

My old card just broke down so I'm looking for something within the 200-250£ range to replace it with.
It'll only be used for gaming.

I have an HAF 912 Mid Tower case,
X58 Extreme3 motherboard (atleast thats what it says on the actual mb),
a 600W PSU,
Intel i7 @ 3.07Ghz and 12gb of ram.
My monitor pretty much requires the card to be HDMI compatible.

I've no idea what I should be getting, so any help would be appreciated.

Hi!

Why not this card?

Comes with a silent and good cooler too.

As this card are factory overclocked it will be a bit faster than the vanilla 280X. But there will still be a headroom for further oc.

Good tip there. Thanks!
I'm a little worried about the size.
My old card is 28cm and it just barely fits.

My old card is a GeForce GTX 580, how is this card in comparison to the 580?
From what I can see the 580 is a bit more expensive, while that may not necessarily mean it's better, I still thought I should ask.
Also, the problem with my current card is not that it's completely ruined, but one of the fans have come off so it's basically running on 2 fans out of 3 and it keeps overheating, with a 2nd fan making weird noises occasionally.
Maybe I'm better off replacing the fans on the card instead, if that's even possible?

If you can stretch for a gtx 970, do it, but a 770 will do the trick too. However, the card goranpaa listed is also a good alternative.

You're welcome.

The dimensions for the Asus 280X are: 11.2 " x 5.7 " x 1.5 " Inches.

Here you can get an idea about the differences between the GTX 580 and the ( vanilla ) R9 280X:

A tip if you still want to replace the cooler on the GTX 580?

Arctic Cooling, are old in the game about making VGA coolers. And are also very good at it.

Seems like it's an overall better card.
I've been wanting to try out something other than Nvidia aswell so if I end up replacing it then that's what I'll get.

As for the fans, the ones you linked seem to be out of stock or discontinued on all the stores I'm looking at.
I did find this one though:
http://www.arctic.ac/eu_en/accelero-xtreme-iii.html
It says it's compatible with the 580, any ideas how good it is?
Also, it looks like it includes a heatsink? Does that mean I need to get new thermal paste aswell?

Unfortunatly the Accelero III is'nt compatible with your card.

I also checked at Zalman home. But no cigar. :(

It seems this it's only the Arctic Cooling I linked to before that seems to work with that card.
