I have a w7 o/s bought for another project that blew out
I will be useing my old case and psu
One thing i`d like to get but can`t find is today`s equal of Norton Goback
as i think this has saved my old xp machine on more than two occasions at least,
Any suggestions?
i must admit i`m not sure about the motherboard what you guys think it`s ok?
thanks

CPU & mobo - personally go for i5 3570k + Z77-DS3H, which allow you to overclock if you want to.

What is your case and psu?

I would assume i5-3570k will have a better re-sell value if you want to sell it eventually.
Anyway, Z77 chip set is better than H77. I suggest you get Z77.

Yes, the K will have greater resale value and to be honest "i wont want to overclock it" is the most famous last words in computer speak! :)

Its so easy (requires you putting a two digit number in a box in the bios).

Instant overclock (they're designed for it).

Makes future more demanding software run for a year or two more.

ok i understand where you lot are coming from
a little bit extra spent now lets me use the pc for longer
i`ll probably will upgrade to the cpu and m/b as suggested above, as ive only seen good reports about them,
can i reduce the gpu for now? and get a better one later? as im im running a o/c`ed 8800 512mb gtx so ill notice an improvement i guesss on any card i get i guess, but i`d still like it to be able to play games a year or so old on high res
any suggestions?

The Gigabyte UD3H Z77 is out of my budget and is the 650 Ti good enough to last a few years?
Or would it be better to buy a lower end card,o/c it, save the cash, and use the cash for a better card in six mths time?
