Need a New PSU

I recently bought another HDD (1TB) which brings my total hard drive count to 5. I have a load of other things in this computer and it is all being powered by my Antec Smartpower 450watt PSU. It runs admirably but considering it is almost 3 years old now, I would like to upgrade. I am in college so money is tight so I figured I would get this one since it seems to be a pretty good deal.

I was just wondering exactly how the 4 12v rails are split. is there just 1 for CPU, 1 for GPU, and 2 others split for the rest or what?

the rails are split differently depending on the brand.

but according toone of the approvals (i think its ATX or something like that), the CPU gets one rail, one GFX card and peripherals on the 2nd, mobo & peripherals on 3rd GFX and peripherals on 4th.

the EPS standard allows the rails to share the load, not limiting other rails...

Cause 5 hard drives do suck power, but not as much as you think.

THat PSU would be enough for you.

If you had the money, I would say go for corsair PSUs, (TX650) but I havent heard anything bad about OCZ PSUs...

Pretty good deal with free shipping and the rebate. The 18 amps on each rail is just the max any one rail can pull, you dont just add them together. I would say that one has around 50 amps total on the 12V rail.

How the rails are divided is on the bottom left.

Well considering my Antec has dual rails and the max each has right now is only 15A then I'm %100 sure that the OCZ will power the rig fine. Thanks for pointing out that information though, I usually only look at the Voltage specs, didn't even notice that my answer was right there. Thanks.
So according to that, if I don't have a 2nd CPU or 2nd gfx card, the 12V2 rail is not even used? hmmm, that sounds kinda stupid. Well since that seems like a waste, I didn't want to do this but I guess I could spring for this.

Now this one is one big rail and it is made by the god of PSU companies so I know it will be good. Any suggestions on an alternative?
