Need advice in buying new laptop

Hi, I need to buy a new laptop and don't really know what models are out there and re commended for the kind of work that I need it for. I am an animator, I use programs like Photoshop, flash, after effects, premiere pro, and I need something that can take it. Something that renders videos quickly and efficiently, something that doesn't crash all the time like my current laptop does ( lenovo b560) I'm a windows user, I don't know how to use macs or Mac software. Any kind of advice would be great. Price range is not necessarily a priority, although it would be nice to not be TOO expensive, but I think quality is more important. Thanks in advance.

I would recommend something with Intel Core i7 and dedicated graphics. What dimensions would you be okay with? Lenovo are great quality but for what you are trying to do your current computer might not be able to handle it, depending on your dimension you want and price I would recommend the Lenovo Y series as those are great quality and power houses.

Thanks for replying. I will rarely move it around, so size should be big, the bigger the screen the better, since I do a lot of graphic work. What does "dedicated graphics" mean exactly?

It means there is a physical component that handles your graphics display, rather than control of the display being handled by the CPU. Since it's a dedicated unit that's only job is to power the graphics, you end up with a much better display/resolution/refresh/etc - animations are smoother and even on a high setting, it won't slow down the rest of the system.

Alternatively, "on-board" or "integrated" graphics means the chip that controls the display is part of the CPU. The CPU handles quite a bit of stuff, so during heavy graphics-intensive situations, you may not get the best result display-wise.

But yes, for what you plan to do, get something with dedicated graphics.
