Need advice on gaming notebooks!

Im going out to buy a laptop in a few days. I need it mostly for gaming and internet, so Im wondering which brands are best for those type of needs. List the specs I need to fully injoy all and upcoming Games for Windows, such as Gears of War. (Which video cards are best and how much GHz + RAM do I need?) I want to spend around $1500..

id go with the 8600m GT...my friend can play Oblivion at full settings and max AA at 1024x768...same for Gears of War.
2 gigs of ram is questionable if youre using vista.....and the T7xxx series processors perform well :)
