Am open for suggestions!!

Kingston HyperX 8GB (2x2x2GB)

Everything you listed should work, as long as that RAM is DDR2.

That motherboard will run a single nVidia graphics card yes, but if you
plan to ever run Crossfire (2 Graphics Cards) you'll need an ATI card.

You should also run at least a 16Mb cache hard drive for the OS. I
would run a 32Mb cache hard drive myself, or a 10,000 rpm drive.

To be honest, for this price range, I would build a Core i7 pc.

Thanks for the advice, i still don't really want to go i7, do not know why but just think it would be better for now to have this build. But thanks again for the advice, i did want to buy the 10000 rpm one from Western Digital VelociRaptor 150GB 10000RPM SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (WD1500HLFS), i think i will buy this one instead of the Western Digital Caviar Blue 160GB SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM (WD1600AAJS).

Why would you possibly want old technology for the same price as new tech?
That hardware is obsolete, and there will never be any new processors made
for that socket.

Plus that board runs Dual Channel DDR2, and an LGA 1366 runs Triple Channel DDR3. No comparison.

Whatever hard drive you choose for your OS should be at least 16Mb cache.

Prices in USD converted from Pounds using current exchange rate. (all values in USD except the ones which have GBP after them)

Hard drive - 270
i7 - 350
MOBO - 330
RAM - 170
PSU - 170
Case - 160
Graphics - 220
OS - 160
Cooler CPU - 100
2 Hard drives - 200
Blu ray - 140

Total = 2270 USD - 1360 GBP

Total for given layout (recommended by you without the LG drive) 1830 USD - 1100 GBP

Total if bought without the 2 hard drives = 2070 USD - 1240 GBP

Agreed, that is prety much the same as what i am prepared to pay, i will think about it,

Thanks for the advice!!!
