Need advice on new comp

I plan on building my first computer and would like it to last me years with only minimal upgrades needed.

I need advice on what psu, case and motherboard to get.

The parts I definitely am getting/have would be an

Processor : AMD FX 8350
Graphics Card : Sapphire Radeon 7970 Vapor-X Ghz 3gb
RAM : 16 gb , maybe 8 gb at first
Sound Card : 5.1 Sound Blaster Z
SSD : 250gb Samsung 840 evo


I'm thinking about getting


Motherboard : GA-990FXA-UD3 Socket AM3+ 990FX ATX AMD (Want a black, grey, or black/red motherboard ) (Ability to add a wireless network card )

PSU : Honestly not sure how much power I would need.

Case : Vengeance Series C70 ATX or Commander MS-I Snow or Z11 Plus ATX or GX-700 Rugged ( Would like to make the comp have red led fans and be able to see inside the comp.)
Need a case out of that selection that would offer the most space/cooling/wire organization.

Optical Drive : Lite-On iHBS112 12x Blu-ray Burner or ASUS 12x Internal Blu-ray Burner BW-12B1ST/BLK/G


Any advice would be helpful since it would be my first build.

When it comes to power supplies I'd look at Corsair, OCZ, XFX, Antec, Seasonic and Silverstone. I don't think I'd bother with anybody else. A 600-700W PSU would be all you need for a single graphics card.

By the way, the 7970 costs about the same as it's successor, the R9 280X - yet the 280X is faster. So, get the 280X.

I wouldn't bother with the sound card since onboard audio will be sufficient unless you're into sound and have a good (ie, 'expensive') set of speakers or headphones.

May as well get the FX-8320 rather than the 8350 to save some cash.

Your other choices are good.
