I just bought a gateway 22-inch hd monitor and I would like to know what is the best way to get the best picture quality. Should it be connected to vga,dvi and what resolution should I use. The monitor is connected to a dell 8200. Any info would be greatly appreciated because I am computer illiterate.Thanks in advance.

Keep the monitor in it's native resolution for best image/performance/whatever.
DVI is a digital signal so on paper it's a better picture. Most users can't tell the difference between VGA and DVI however, it really depends on the specific monitor and eye.
