need advice: upgrading computer

hey, i really need some advice on this matter.
I want to upgrade my computer, by just putting sime more RAM in, ive only got 512 mb RAM now, and i was just wondering if it is worth putting another
1gb RAM in ( along with the 512 mb), or should i just put another 512 mb RAM component in? Is it worth upgrading my RAM if im not gonna upgrade the graphics card?

Adding ram is the cheapest and fastest upgrade you can do. Win XP works well on 1 gig, but if you are using Vista you need at least 2 gigs.
