For years I have been backing up my home videos and pictures by burning them to disc, I make 2 copies of everything and put them in different locations in case of a house fire or such.. I think cloud storage is good, but not really what I have in mind because of personal preferences.. I think what I want to do is add extra HHDs to my home computer and to my office computer and keep them synced with a cloud service.. Or something like that.. And maybe make only 1 hard copy from now own.... So any ideas I would really like to hear from anyone.. Another thing I'm wondering about is right now I have an extra 500gb HHD in my computer just for storage, I always keep my video and pics on my cameras storage, a backup to the extra HHD, and on my C drive (3 copies) until I get them backed up to disc.. Once I get them backed up I delete from all 3 places except for what I want to keep for sharing or whatever.. My question is this; suppose my C drive or motherboard goes out, how do I recover the data on the extra HHD? I've always assumed I could just plug it into another sata port and recover it like an external HHD... Thanks..
