Need An Average Graphics Card Soon

I know nothing about graphics cards.

I will be buying a new computer very soon. It will be 8 GB Ram. Looking for an average graphics card to replace the crappy ones that come in the systems. I don't play games much, but want 1 that will be adequate if I do play games. Maybe a used 1 off of EBAY. What can I get for 60.00, or less used on EBAY?

My 8 year old computer (512 mb ram) has a Geforce 4ti 4600 which I put in it about 6 years ago. Is it still average enough to use, or outdated for my new computer?

I'm not too good on prices but something thats neither high end or low end would be a 4850. They go for about $120 on NewEgg. Is that too much or too little?
 
That card is ancient...its also AGP.

In new systems these days its rare you get a AGP slot...they are PCI-E these days.

For $60 on ebay id look into getting an 8800Gt or 9600GT.

You might need a new power supply though if you upgrade to a dedicated graphics card.
