Need assurance

Hello my friend and I are very new to building a computer from scratch and are very tight on money. We've decided to buy his motherboard and processor first and I need a little assurance that the processor will work on the motherboard.

I'm about to go order.. Noone has any idea that a socket 775 processor will work on a motherboard that has a socket 775 slot?

of course it will. Thats the whole point of the naming for it. LGA 775 goes with LGA 775.

newegg also has that board. why don't you buy it all at the same place and save alittle shipping. plus newegg's board is $6 cheaper.
