Need Build Tips

Hey haven't posted in a while or been keeping up with the tech movement. Looking to make a new build this spring, I want to centralize it from something pretty close to the higher end CPUs. If I want to go i7, which MBs should I be focusing on, and how much RAM should I be looking to get. I'd want this rig for casual gaming use, even though I want to be able to shred the most recent games and not want to rebuild for 3/4 yrs.

Mobo go for gigabyte but there will be new chipsets and cpus out early next year.
