Need Com[puter case advice ^^

LOL oo ya :).

But other than that umm i was thinking of building a custom case for a computer. My little bro said build it in a fireplace and i figured that isnt too hard of a design to at least try with wood and wouldnt look bad with a glass panel and some red LED fans in front :)

Can anyone gimme some advice on how i would need to install all the components such as hard drives and ODD? Would they just have to be within the Cords reach and mounted securely?

And for the motherboard do i just line up the holes and drill in to mount it?

I would be testing with a 6 year old crappy computer so it wouldnt matter to much if it epically failed i just got a lot of free time on my hands until June and this sounds FUN :)
 
sure :) it sounds easy and i havnt seen it before got any other ideas i can build out of wood?

No idea thats what i need help with :) im sure i can figure it out but gonna gather as much info as i can on this :) not too much on google yet :).

theres a hardware reference PFD that i cant open with this comp lol (the t3393) idk if that will help.

would like to keep it small but not cramped by any means. With the dimensions of a regular looking fireplace
 
i would start by positioning the stuff where you would want it. be creative like the trash can computer. you may have to use something to hold stuff up. then get a tape measure and start measuring and write it down. decide what kind of materials you are gonna want to use. there are all kinds of things. then start your build. i was little out of it last night while i was in here so i wasn't thinking very well. lol.
 
im in the middle of making a car radio testing box. i used an old computer power supply and some kinda small speakers and its all getting stuffed into a plastic tool box. just have to order parts and start cuttin gon the tool box. (i can fix some radios and needed a way to check them out with out costing too much money)
