Need GPU Upgrade Advice

I currently have a GTX960 and was wondering if my system was capable of handling an upgrade to a GTX1070? I have an i5 4690k 3.5GHz and the rest of my specs are listed here: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/cFmjGf

I'm running the same cpu, a 650W psu, and an 1080... you'll be perfectly good with a 1070!!!!

Yes dude. I have a GTX 960 right now thinking of upgrading to 1070 soon. Got practically the same specs and I'm positive it'll run fantastically!

You have a good reason for saying that? No reason not to, he's got a board and cooler that could easily net him a few hundred MHz. Free performance is free performance.

He could OC but it wouldn't make a substantial difference with a 960.

He's probably saying that because the guy has an Ex6 mobo which was the crappier of the ASRock mobos for OC on haswell refresh. Still a great board otherwise though and can easily hit 4.5.

Have you actually seen what ASRock offers for the Z97 chipset? The Extreme6 is probably their better boards in all of their Z97 chipset lineups. It's got a 12 power-phase design among and basically all other features that their other lower end boards have.

I have intimate knowledge. Look it up, Ex6 overclocks worse than Ex4. People usually squeeze an extra 100Mhz out of their chips with the same voltage on the 4 vs the 6. You don't NEED 12 phase with Haswell anyways, and this board clearly has poorly implemented power delivery.

However, other than that, feature wise, it is a spectacular board.
