Need "Heavy Workload" Printer Suggestions

I've purchased two HP Officejet Pro L7680's and both have died on me in about one months time. I've contacted HP and they've told me all they can suggest is that we purcahse a refurbished unit from them. I've done a little research and honestly just can't find any printers that are advertised to handle "heavy" work-loads (several thousand sheets printed every few months).

I'm hoping somebody here has a printer they have experience with a printer that has been reliable and they have personally used or seen which prints thousands of documents every month or so without breaking down. Finding a printer that is compatible with a Continuous Ink Supply System or has cartridges that can be self-refilled would be a true blessing. Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You're probably not going to find an ink printer that will be of a high enough durability to fulfill your needs, especially if those HP Officejet Pro's aren't cutting it. You're going to have to go with a laser, and this will actually cut down on your overall cost within a fairly short amount of time.

The Xerox machines are good, as well as the Brother machines. However Canon, Okidata, Epson and yes, Lexmark all make pretty good high-end laser machines.

These two Brothers would be good at about $600 and $700; both have networking, run at 21 ppm, and also have many of the other features of the current HPs you're using, the second one has a duplexer and wireless networking in addition to everything else:

However, the above printers won't probably have a high enough capacity cartridge to cover what you do in one month, and you'll be making a lot of trips to the store/web and changing them out as well. If you want something more durable than that you can go with one of the Canon, Lexmark or Xerox $1,000 machines that will also use a higher capacity set of cartridges:

All 3 of those machines are fairly similar with their features, all offer 1-year next day on-site repairs. These are also machines that are designed for extremely high amounts of copies per month.

On the Xerox machine the standard capacity is 3,000 sheets and the high is 6,000 for all 3 colors and black.
The Canon uses 4,000 sheet capacity colors and 6,000 sheet black.
The Lexmark uses 4,000 sheet capacity colors and 5,000 sheet capacity black.

Overall, the three machines are fairly similar, but if you would like to provide more information on what your exact needs are or what features you would like, then we could provide a more precise recommendation.

When you start going much above these machines listed, then you may want to look into renting some machines from one of those companies as they do have contracts available to lease the larger machines.
