Need help and information on a Eee pc

my mrs has a Eee pc its a small laptop and been in a box for a while now because it has a problem.

the problem is somthing todo with the keyboard when you start up, when it comes up to the logon screen and you have too put your password in you press one key and it just carrys on typeing that letter you have pushed its self on the screen so you cant complete the password.

i think it might have sticky keys but not too sure but i cant logon todo anything to the laptop once i can logon it should be straight forward.

any help would be great cheers :)

Does it to that to all keys for just the first one? If just the first letter of the password then I assume you have an issue with that key. Try booting to safe mode and see if it still happens. If not, then remove the password so you can logon in regular mode.

no it does it too all the keys and i will try safe mode and how do you remove the password without logging in ?

When you boot to safe mode you should have the option to log on to user account and an administrator account. Choose administrator and then go into control panel and remove the password on the other account.
 
Plug in a USB keyboard to see if you can enter the pw that way. If that works, then you know the problem is with the keyboard. You should be able to find a replacement keyboard on Ebay, they're not hard to change out.
