So when it comes to computers I'm no genius. I really need advice with two builds. Most importantly is the one my friend needs for school. Of course he could just go buy a 300 dollar computer that will last some time but he'd rather get some advice on what he should get instead of buying blindly. He just needs a computer that will last down the road. It would just need to run basic programs like Microsoft office/word/power-point with ease. Also browse the internet smoothly and endure a lot of video streaming. Also have enough memory for various programs that would be added to for school use. He just wants something that wont end up breaking down after a month use. Also a good monitor mouse and keyboard would be appreciated. his price range is from 400-700.

Now for the second build. This is mine personally as I'm looking for a gaming/editing computer. I need something to run games like mortal kombat or gta v. I would also be using photoshop and sony vegas. So i need something to give me good rendering time and be able to withstand heavy editing. I want to stream and be able to edit videos for youtube also. My price range is from 800-1000. I would love if it could include a monitor/keyboard/mouse. but if its not possible I will buy them separately. Thank you for looking. Sorry for such noobish questions but any advice is highly appreciated.

For your friend, you can look at an an AMD FM2+ system and for you an Intel 1150 build or possibly skylake which is the new socket they just came out with. Give me a few minutes and I can post links for parts for both.

Both of the builds are super nice. Is it possible to change the case and add leds on the fan? if not its understandable. Would it affect the build? Ive seen some pretty cool builds im not sure about it though. only on the gaming build. the first one is on point thank you!

You can add whatever you want. It was just to give you an idea of about how much your looking at.
