Need Help Bad

K i have a ga-8skml motherboard with a P4, 2.0ghz and 1 gb of ram.. running windows xp.. what card can i get for under 300 bucks canadian that would be at least somewhat decent for some games.. i dont know if i support agp or pci or pci-e?? i dont know so can someone help me out.. it would be much appreciated
 
thx.. its not so much my price range im worried about.. its compatibility.. i dont know how to figure out what my mother board supports
 
Your mobo takes only PCI video cards, not PCI-e and not AGP.
Why not pick up a newer socket 478 mobo that has agp slot for video (cheap) then get a nice agp board and still have a budget of $65 for a mobo and $240 for a vid card. That way you can use your existing cpu. You will have to switck to 184 pin DDR but you can get a gig of ram, 2x512, for about $80.If you want to stay with your present system, try to find a FX5700, FX5950 or a ATI 9600PRO.
