NEED help booting an old pc[fast]

i found an old pc around here the house ...
but i cant boot it. i think it maybe the power switch wire that u connect with the mb coz i put it the right way (and many others).
and i push the power button and NOTHING happens all dead......
Is there any other way to start the pc ??????

i think you should check the power supply unit, if the PSU is ok then check the power switch connector on the mb.

i think the psu is connected ok coz a led lights up in the mb ...
AND the power switch connector is connected right to the mb too .. i dont know what it is man its driving me crazy and i need help FAST

try running a knife across all the pins on for the power. thats what i had to do for my free pc since it had a dell mobo, and it was weird. It turned out u have to get 3 different pins, and kinda jiggle it around to get it all up.
quite the pain, but once i get it figured out completely, i'm buying a cheap car ignition, and using that as the push button, only its not really a push button. creative thinking, isn't it.

anyway, what kind is it? if its a dell or hp or something like that, that could be your problem.
