Need help, brothers birthday

Here you go:

If you are willing to assemble it yourself (which I recommend over buying pre-built due to the fact you can choose quality components to use), I recommend buying this stuff:

Pentium G2120 http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...elceleronandpentiumdualcore/bx80637g2120.html
P8B75-M http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...s/intel1155b75chipset/90-mibj20-g0eay0kz.html

8GB RAM http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...c3-12800/1600mhz/bls2cp4g3d1609ds1s00ceu.html
Corsair CX 430 Modular http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/powersupplies/cp-9020058-uk.html

Fractal Design Core 1000 http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/cases/cases/7350041080565.html

SanDisk Extreme 128GB SSD http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...nal/solidstate/upto120gb/sdssdx-120g-g25.html

Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...aphicscards/amdhd7750series/11202-00-20g.html

Comes to £392 including VAT. That will be a good build for casual gaming. :)

Needs an OS too which will be about 70 quid on top.

The catches are:

- Cheap, poor quality power supply. More likely to destroy your system. :(
- Cheap graphics card, really not good for gaming at all (the 7750 I recommended in my last post is miles better than what that system has).
- Cheap case. Little cable management, chances are there's no rounded edges.
- Only 1333MHz RAM. In this day and age, you want 1600MHz or faster for DDR3.
- Low-end motherboard. Not great, but it'll be OK.

It's a very unbalanced system.

Hello there

Very well, I won't purchase the ebay computer. I'm looking at spirit post and although I'm willing to put the computer together, its worth noting I never have assembled a computer from scratch. Where is an idiot proof guide for not messing this up? The most I've done is installed RAM and a graphics card in a PCI-Slot, nothing more.

Best Wishes,

It's as easy as that, basically. You just need to screw the motherboard in the case which usually isn't complicated, along with the CPU and the other stuff.

Another user and I are going to be writing a guide on how to build a PC shortly (within the next few months probably), but for now you can watch videos on YouTube and read guides online. It's pretty simple.

You just need to make sure that you grounded whilst you build it and that you have the correct tools for the job (pliers are handy for installing motherboard standoffs and of course you'll need a screwdriver) and make sure you take your time and you'll be good.

If it goes wrong and it doesn't boot you can always refer to this guide which I wrote about a year or so ago http://www.computerforum.com/209946-tech-guide-diagnosing-pc-will-not-post-start.html it explains how to diagnose a PC which won't POST or start at all.

Pretty much. :D If you've installed graphics card and RAM DIMMs before you should be capable of assembling a whole system.
