Need Help buying New Graphic/Video Card

Hi, I am new to this forum. Please Forgive my noob-ness. I thank you in advance for your help.

Okay, so i need help buying a new Graphic/Video Card. About a month ago I upgraded to windows vista and the "Blue screen error" started happening. I didn't realize until today that i need at least 128 MB Memory. I only have a card with 64 MB. I think thats why i'm experiancing the blue screen error. What other possible causes could it be?

I have Integrated ATI Radeon Express 200( which came with my system when i bought it 3 years ago) So its long overdue for a new Graphics card. I also recently upgraded the PSU from 300w to 600w.

I only know a little bit about graphic cards. So it would be great if someone could suggest a video/graphic card that i could use with my system because i'm absolutely clueless. I dont want to buy a graphic card thats not gonna work with my system you know? Here are my specs:

HP Pavillion RBO44AV-ABA a1620y

OS: Microsoft Windows Visa Home Premium, 32 bit

Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20 GHz

2.00 GB RAM

225 GB HDD

BIOS Version/Date: Megatrends INC. 3.19, 9/5/06
( Do i need to upgrade BIOS?) i have no idea....

I believe i have 2 PCI Slots and 1 PCI-E SLot. X16??

Any suggestions? Thanks :)

Upgrading a computer like you have is kinda tricky...there are several things to think about.

This is the spec sheet

1. I guess you upgraded the power supply already...that's a huge step in the right direction.

2. You can see on the spec sheet that you do have a PCI-E x16 slot...that's great news.

3. You will have to measure the inside of your case and see what will fit. Many cases like that have very limited room for graphics cards.

4. The processor will bottle neck any mid to high end graphics cards you could put in there...you will need to stay on the lower end. Almost anything will be better than the ATI 200 integrated chip:D That will also keep costs down staying on the low side.

If you have room...one of these will be fine:D

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 3650 for $45

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 3870 for $73

Either one of these cards will be a huge upgrade from the integrated graphics you have built in the motherboard. Just remember...make sure you look at the size of the card in relation to your case;)
