Need help buying wireless mouse/keyboard

I'm looking at something like the Logitech MX3200.

1. Is it worth it to buy the combo, or will I be better off buying a wireless mouse and keyboard separately?

2. I always hear about lag times and wireless mice going into "sleep mode" and such. Is this a real issue that I'll notice? I don't do hardcore gaming, but I need precision and reliability (3D animation).

Does anybody have a better suggestion (in the ~$80 range)?

Thanks!

Microsoft and Logitech alike have some models to look over for both combo and individual mice and keyboards. Personally corded models always seem to work the best while both have cordless models for consideration. The MS optical mice are quite durable and easily cleaned when the optical ball gets smudged by finger prints.

The drawback on the usb with PS2 adapter models is seen when installing or reinstalling XP and the F8 key simply won't do anything at the license agreement. The standard PS2 only $10 cheapy is then plugged in just to press the F8 key. Vista now sees that corrected.
