My DVD Rom/CD-Burner (Lite on 48X) Will never go up to its maximum read speed! When I try to play a DVD for instance where before it worked great, now it's always freezing videos, glitchy and distorted audio, and before where it's green light (The one that shows if it's reading properly) WAS constant, now it's pulsing. This happened after the reformat took place, but I downloaded the old driver for it. Please help.

Without having your computer on my bench, I would hasten to suggest that it's done. The beams go on them and eventually they are too weak to read the disk. You can actually sometimes tweak them with one of the potentiometers, but it really isn't worth it and the fix is only temporary. Better not to play with it and just go buy a new one.

Also, what is this about a driver? You don't need to load drivers for CD/DVD drives. Window's has built in drivers that work just fine... I'd remove the drivers if you could and revert back to the Microsoft drivers. They've never given me a problem.
