Right now the mother I have sucks, can only have 2 gb of ddr2 at low mhz 5xx. Right now the price I go for is 100-250, I have a board selected and wanted to have suggestions on other motherboards. Here is the one I found: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2945261&CatId=2051 It got good reviews so thats why I have it bookmarked :), suggestions please though. P.S Looking for cheap ddr2 800 mhz ram 2 gb like these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227198.

Are you in Canada, because if you are in US you can NEWEGG its cheaper.

Second, what CPU are you using ?

Let me know

I ran cpu-z and its lga775, I live in the U.S I just trust tiger more because some items are cheaper then newegg. Its only a Pentium 4 3ghz if you need to know that :). Also I can't find this mobo on newegg.

TigerDirect actually has a store location here near my house in Miami.
I wont buy from them in person or online.
Theyre alright.
But once you know, you newegg.

TigerDirect might look cheaper, but they charge TAX plus SHIPPING for most items in most states.

Ok back to the subject.
It is usless to throw a $200 MOBO on an OLD CPU

Just update the CPU to a C2D or any Dual Core CPU, theyre cheap
AMD for around $60 and Intel for $110 and up.
Get a good 90-$130 MOBO to go with it, make it a GIGABYTE
and throw 800 PC2 6400 OCZ 2 x 1 GB sticks of ram on it for $80

you will spend alot less then what you originally planned and you will notice the difference

Its just no use throwing a $400 update of new equipment on an old machine
peace

I would like to buy a bundle rather then separate. So would this be a good deal? Its not the new t1 motherboard but it comes with a 2.4 conroe. Also is the conroe 64 bit? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2932446&CatId=1599 , also I want one that I can SLI because I plant on getting another 7600gt. And I'm not an amd guy. Are asus good? And is it ok for open box or will there be some problems? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131153R. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131153 so many motherboards and I don't know which one! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115003 thats the cpu I'm going to get. Any of those mobo's you recommend? SLI is a must and ddr2 dual channel 8 gbs :). Also on these sli motherboards can you put your gfx card in one of the sli slots just not run in sli mode? And yet I found a $160 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2927686&Sku=E145-2010.

Sorry for the double post but if I have a evga 680i sli running on a 2.4 ghz conroe and I have only a gig of 533 mhz ddr2 dual channel will it fry the mobo at all or should I buy the chip motherboard and 2 gb of ocz 800 mhz dual channel at once to ensure safety? Thats alot to spend at once so thats why I'm asking.
