So I have an old laptop that died on me a little over a year ago. It was running Windows XP Pro. The power port died so that it wouldn't charge at all and then the battery died. I'm not sure if the mother board is also bad or if it just is that it wont charge and the battery died, but regardless I can't get it to turn on. I've got a bunch of pictures I want to get off of there and the hard drive is still good. The problem I'm running into is I took the hard drive out and hooked it up to my desktop via a 2.5"ide to 3.5"ide adapter cable. I can see the main files, but when I go to the documents and settings, and then to the folder with my user name it tells me access is denied. I'm assuming this is because my user account had a password on it. Is there anyway to unlock this so I can get the files off? I know the password, I just don't seem to be able to enter it anywhere to unlock it? Any suggestions?
