Need help finding a legal OEM Vista Home Premium 64-bit CD

I bought a laptop this summer with vista home premium 64 bit on it. It qualifies for the free upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit.

My problem is that I am replacing the hard drive and I need to install Vista on it, but I don't have a 64-bit oem cd. I need to install the 64-bit version so it will accept the Win7 upgrade in October.

I have a licensed key. I just need the Vista OEM 64-bit Home Premium CD.

Any ideas how I can get one?

Or does anyone know if the win7 upgrade can be installed as an oem on a blank hard drive, using my vista key? I assume it can't.

Depending on who makes it, you can order a set of restore dvd's from the manufacturer from $10 or so. I know dell's and HP both have that option, others may as well.

The upgrade more than likely will require os to be preinstalled.

I believe there are programs out there that allow to make install disc's from an already installed version of windows. i think vLite is one of them.

try searching ebay for a reinstalation disc, u can find them very cheap, like $5, it has the complete os installed on it and its meant for consumers in your same position. with the product key which im assuming u have it should install just fine,

just get the right companies reinstallation disc hp and dell have them dont know about any others. dont worry about the cd being legal as long as u have that product key everything should be legal
